St Joseph's School
St Joseph's School provides a physically and emotionally safe place for our students, as required by the Education and Training Act 2020 (s. 127). As part of our primary duty of care, we have systems to eliminate or minimise health and safety risks, and our continued aim is to improve health outcomes for our students. The principal leads and monitors a schoolwide approach to health and wellbeing, and works with the board to ensure systems are in place to respond to concerns.
Child protection
As required by the Children's Act 2014 (s. 14), we have a Child Protection policy in place that provides a framework for student safety at St Joseph's School. We also have supporting policies and procedures in place to ensure that all members of our community understand their responsibilities for maintaining a safe school environment. Our Child Protection policy emphasises safeguarding of our students and prevention of harm, as well as the importance of recognising and responding to concerns.

General student wellbeing and safety
St Joseph's School also provides a healthy learning environment through recognising and responding to factors that impact the general safety and wellbeing of our students. We have procedures in place that explain related roles and responsibilities within the school and wider community.
