  • Created new headings within this topic to show how the school puts safeguards in place within their employment procedures and child protection training.

  • This topic is obsolete. We've included information in this topic in the new Staff Responsibilities for Child Protection topic.

Sharing Information

  • This topic was previously removed and information was moved into other related topics, but following review of this subject matter we have reinstated the topic within the Privacy section.
  • Added information about informing students if their information is intended to be shared.

Supporting Student Wellbeing

  • Strengthened the introduction with reference to relevant legislation and have added more information about the whole-school wellbeing approach to promote wellbeing and school pastoral care.
  • Split the topic and created a new topic to cover information about how to respond to student wellbeing concerns.

Responding to Student Wellbeing Concerns

  • This is a new topic that includes content about responding to low and high-risk student wellbeing concerns.
  • It contains content that was previously in Supporting Student Wellbeing.
  • This topic includes links to relevant topics such as Abuse Recognition and Reporting, Self-Harm, and Preventing and Responding to Suicide.
  • It covers content about recording wellbeing concerns.

Self-harm

  • Added content about evidence of self-harm, the difference between privacy and confidentiality, recording self-harm concerns, and support for others.

Preventing and Responding to Suicide

Sexual Behaviour in Students

  • Moved content about managing concerning behaviour and issues to a new topic.

Responding to Sexual Behaviour Concerns and Incidents

  • This new topic is about responding to sexual behaviour concerns and incidents. It contains some content that was previously in Sexual Behaviour in Students.
  • It expands on support for those with concerning behaviour and added information about support for affected students.
  • It clarifies recording and reporting processes.
