State-integrated topic updates

Proprietor and Integration Agreement

  • This topic replaces the current Board of Proprietors topic. It outlines the responsibilities of the proprietor in relation to the integration agreement and links to key topics.

Board Responsibility

Added information about:

  • the integration agreement and special character
  • the proprietor's representatives on the board, and consultation with the proprietor
  • staff responsible for religious instruction (for schools where religious instruction is part of their special character).

Special Character

 

  • Added reference to the board and proprietor responsibilities in relation to special character, and an updated list of related topics.

Appointment Procedure

 

  • Added wording about the Public Service Act and that all staff are expected to uphold the special character of the school.
  • Added information about special positions.

Advertise a Position - no religious instruction

  • Updated the wording for clarity throughout.

Finance and Property Management Policy

 

  • Added a section outlining the proprietor's responsibilities in relation to finance and property management.
  • Moved optional wording about insurance to the bottom of the topic. Schools can also add information here about how the board and proprietor work together to manage finance and property.

Attendance Dues and Other Income

  • Clarified that attendance dues are a condition of enrolment and that not paying dues may result in the suspension of enrolment.
  • Added information about what the revenue from attendance dues and other financial contributions can be used for and how accounts are kept.
  • Added information about proprietor fundraising activities.

Property Maintenance

  • Added wording about long term property planning, including a 10 year maintenance plan and 10 year capital development plan, and the need for these to show how any Ministry funding will be spent.
  • Added wording to clarify whether you follow the Ministry's 10 Year Property Plan (10YPP) process.

  • Reformatted this topic and reorganised its content for clarity.
