Volunteer Involvement

(previously Parent Involvement)

• Reorganised the topic to focus on all types of volunteers, and focused more about health and safety.
• No longer linking to Volunteer Agreement forms as it has proven difficult for schools to keep this up to date on SchoolDocs. Recommend keeping volunteer agreement forms in your internal school system.
• Added wording to cover police vetting, safety checking, and concerns and complaints.

Communicating with Parents and Whānau

(previously Communicating with Parents)

• Clarified some processes relating to contact details and direct communication.

School Community Conduct Expectations

(previously Community Conduct Expectations)

• Restructured the topic to make it clearer.
• No longer linking to a School Community Code of Conduct document.
• No longer includes detailed content about dealing with breaches and outcomes of breaches. This content is covered by the updated Concerns and Complaints Policy (and subtopics).

School Social Media

(previously Community Social Media Guidelines)

• Moved under the Digital Technology and Online Safety section on SchoolDocs.
• Added content about setting up school community social media, the responsibilities of administrators, general guidelines, and incidents.
• Added topic to all school sites.

EOTC Transport

• Based on our updates to the Volunteer Involvement topic, added the following wording to this topic: "We assess any potential risks (e.g. health, safety, child protection) if considering using volunteers to transport students."

Reporting about Student Progress and Achievement

(previously Reporting to Parents on Student Progress and Achievement)

• Moved topic to Curriculum and Student Achievement Policy section on SchoolDocs.
• Topic no longer fully customisable. Now includes core content with optional school-specific wording.
• Highlighted legislative requirements for reporting and board assurance.
• Updated Related topics and Resources, and added Legislation.
