2024 Board Assurances

The updated board assurance list has been checked against regulatory and legislative requirements for schools, and the most recent version of ERO Self-Audit Checklists. See The School Self Audit and Assurance Statement .

Information in the assurance list corresponds to information on your SchoolDocs site.

Important changes:

• The Planning and Preparing for Emergencies, Disasters, and Crises assurance is an updated version of the Evacuation / Emergency Kits and Supplies assurance. It has been updated to show the board is assured that emergency plans and evacuation procedures are in place and up to date. This assurance repeats every term.
• The School Planning and Reporting assurance reflects updated strategic planning requirements for schools.
• The Digital Technology and Online Safety assurance now includes requirements about bullying prevention and reporting of breaches.
• The Appointment Procedure assurance includes related personnel requirements about staff conduct and professional development.
• The Performance Management assurance replaces the previous Principal Professional Growth Cycle assurance, and shows that the board is assured of both principal and teacher performance.
• The previous Expenditure assurance has been updated following advice from external financial advisors, and combined with a Managing Income and Expenditure assurance.
• There are new board assurances based on the most recent ERO Self-Audit Checklists. The new assurances refer to information that is already in SchoolDocs policies and procedures and show how the board can be assured that appropriate processes are in place. New assurances are in place for the following topics:
