• This is a new topic, which outlines the safety checking procedures for all children's workers employed or engaged by the school.
• The information about independent child services providers adopting a child protection policy has been moved from the Contractors Working at School topic into this topic.

Police Vetting for Non-Teachers

Reformatted and updated topic to align with the new Safety Checking topic. The changes include:

• an updated introduction that mentions children's workers, with a drop-down definition
• additional wording about volunteers being safety checked as appropriate (schools do not necessarily have to vet volunteers)
• further detail about storing and destroying confidential information
• new wording to emphasise it is the school's responsibility to ensure student safety, and seek further information as needed
• a new Legislation section.
