Learning Support

• Clarified the source documents e.g. by writing as the Ministry of Education's Learning Support Action Plan 2019–2025.
• Added an explanation about neurodiverse learners. Although this is referred to throughout the Ministry of Education's Learning Support Action Plan, many reviewers were unsure what it meant.
• Added content about communicating with parents as a result of feedback from schools. Also, school-wide engagement and awareness of learning support are priorities in the Ministry of Education's Learning Support Action Plan.
• Added content about reporting due to queries from board, staff, and parents about how learning support is managed in their school.
• Removed the Ministry of Education's "Success for All – Every School, Every Child" as it was published in 2010 and outlines goals for 2014.

Learning Support Coordination

• Added a note about the introduction of a standardised learning support register (sLSR) on the Te Rito platform.

Identify Learning Support

• Added a place for schools to supply additional wording about other ways a need for learning support may be identified.

The Teacher's Role

• Added a bullet point about teachers identifying students with learning support needs, which links to the Identify Learning Support topic.

Literacy Support (secondary schools)

• Updated some of the wording in this topic.

Learning Support Staff

• Added a link to the professional development topic for schools that have this optional topic.

Ongoing Resourcing Schemes

• Moved the information about the ongoing resourcing scheme (ORS) into a pop-up in the main Learning Support topic. The original ORS topic will be removed from your site.

Individual Education Plan (IEP)

• Simplified the wording in this topic.
