Term 4 2020 – Internal Review

Internal reviews

Food and Nutrition

  • Updated this topic to align with the Ministry of Health's Healthy Active Learning guidance, including Healthy Food and Drink Guidance – Schools (March 2020).
  • Updated some of the wording to better reflect current public health messaging in schools. Some schools are starting to develop their own more detailed food and nutrition policies.

Student Assessment and Achievement (secondary)

  • Industry training organisations (ITOs), such as Competenz, may require applicant organisations to have policies and procedures to ensure that staff are appropriately qualified. We have added the following wording before the Guidelines for assessment heading.

Teachers hold qualifications relevant to the areas they are teaching or assessing, and/or have equivalent knowledge and skills to assess the subject area, as required. They will have completed standards-based assessment training as appropriate, and are involved in ongoing professional development to support their knowledge of best practice. This applies to qualifications being delivered by the school and by external providers, where teachers are overseeing that study.
